DR. ERWIN CHAN
Dr. Erwin Chan was born and raised in Toronto. Erwin graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Human Biology. He graduated from the Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio in 2003.
Erwin has been a clinical instructor for the University of Toronto Faculty of Dentistry department of Restorative Dentistry since 2010.
Erwin is a Toronto Raptors fan and plays basketball whenever he can. He also enjoys tennis, running, swimming, dragon-boating, skiing, snowboarding, and skating. Erwin completed his first Full Marathon in May 2010 and would be grateful for any pointers to improve his time.
Erwin recently got married in the autumn of 2012 and lives with his wife in North York. On their spare time, they dogsit their favourite furry nephew, a beautiful Siberian Husky.
Dr. Chan traveled to Peru in March 2008 with a group, Kindness In Action (www.kindnessinaction.ca), to volunteer his skills in dentistry. In 2000, he traveled to the Dominican Republic for a similar mission.
Dr. Erwin is an active member of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO), Ontario Dental Association (ODA), Toronto Crown & Bridge Study Club, Academy of Integrative Implant Dentistry, and FORCE Orthodontic Study Club. He enjoys lifelong learning and is always choosing interesting continuing education courses to attend.
Erwin traveled to San Francisco, California in 2007 for the 38th annual meeting of the American Dental Association (ADA). Erwin completed Invisalign certification in Chicago, Illinois in May 2008. Erwin has completed a comprehensive course in Implant dentistry in 2010 with the Academy of Integrative Implant Dentistry. Erwin travelled to San Diego in 2011 for the Academy of General Dentistry annual meeting. Erwin will be attending the IFEA Endodontic Congress in Tokyo Japan in May 2013.
MARY
Mary is our Office Coordinator. Mary graduated from George Brown College in 1991 as a Certified Dental Office Administrator and has more than 17 years of dental experience.
Outside of work Mary enjoys spending quality time with her two beautiful children that she adores and husband of 22 years. Mary dedicates her time and energy to her children’s extracurricular activities. Watching her daughter’s dance recitals brings Mary great joy. Mary’s son is a talented soccer player and she enjoyed travelling to London England recently to support him at his exhilarating matches.
Whenever Mary gets a chance, she is dancing, gardening, cooking or watching a great movie.
SUSIE
Susie has been in the dental profession for over 17yrs, of which over 8 yrs have been as a Registered Dental Hygienist. Susie graduated from Durham College for Dental Assisting in 1993 and Dental Hygiene in 2002 at Canadore College in North Bay, ON. Susie has upgraded her education by attending the University of Manitoba, in Winnipeg in 2008 where she successfully completed a course for administering Local Anesthesia. Her gentle and caring disposition contributes to our team’s dedication to providing our patients with excellent care.
Outside of work, Susie most enjoys spending time with her 2 yr old daughter ” Sara” and husband Brian. Susie enjoys playing the piano and travelling on her free time.
FATIMAFatima is our Registered Dental Hygienist. Fatima has been involved in the field of dentistry since 2001, when she completed her studies as a level 2 dental assistant. She later continued her education and graduated in 2005 as a registered dental hygienist. Her focus is on providing excellent oral health by applying her skills and providing information about oral health care to the community.
Not only does she value the friendly contact with her clients, but she is also an animal lover and enjoys spending time with her very energetic border collie, ‘Jay’.
KRISTAWe would like to welcome the newest member of Bayview Family Dental. Krista is a Certified Level II Dental Assistant. She graduated from Everest College in 2010. She is a people person and enjoys getting to know each and every patient.
She has recently gotten married in 2012 and enjoys spending time helping her husband renovate their home. She has a passion for movies and loves spending time outdoors hiking.
